1. Tell us what you are planning.

Start with the type of work and the location of the project. A few photographs, a rough sketch and approximate dimensions make the first conversation more useful.

  • Room or feature you want to change
  • Existing conditions and planned changes
  • Inspiration or material preferences
  • Drawings and photos, if available

2. Work through the material and details.

Consider the whole scope: material, layout, edges, sink or appliance openings and adjoining finishes. A preliminary discussion becomes more precise as these choices are confirmed.

  • Review the material direction
  • Discuss visible edges and joints
  • Identify openings and important dimensions
  • Clarify what is included in the project

3. Confirm the dimensions before fabrication.

Final measurements are a separate step from rough dimensions sent with an enquiry. Imperial uses digital templating and CNC fabrication as part of its stonework process.

  • Confirm the layout and relevant site conditions
  • Check the final fabrication details
  • Review outstanding decisions before the work proceeds

4. Prepare for installation and everyday use.

The room’s readiness and access requirements need to be discussed for the actual project. Confirm the installation scope and the care guidance for the selected surface.

  • Coordinate access and room preparation
  • Confirm responsibilities for related work
  • Understand the selected material’s care instructions
  • Keep the team’s contact details for follow-up questions

A little clarity

Questions, answered.

Useful details before you take the next step.

Ask the team
What is the difference between rough dimensions and final templating?

Rough dimensions help explain the scope at the enquiry stage. Final templating confirms the dimensions and conditions needed for fabrication after the relevant project details are ready.

Can I receive an exact price from a photo?

A photograph helps start the discussion, but pricing depends on the selected material, dimensions, details and installation requirements. Any assumptions or missing information need to be clarified.

How long will my project take?

Timing depends on the selected material, project scope, outstanding decisions and scheduling. Ask for the expected sequence for your specific project; no general turnaround is promised here.

Will plumbing, electrical work or removal be included?

Do not assume related work is included. Ask the team to confirm the exact scope and the responsibilities for each part of your project before proceeding.
